| The LoneStart Wellness Initiative
works because: |
 |
It's a jumpstart to long-term
success, a lifestyle change that changes lives. |
 |
 |
It’s simple, honest,
positive and sustainable.. |
 |
In just 21 days you’ll begin to see
and feel the LoneStart difference. And it doesn't
end there. 21 days is just the beginning. |
 |
The easy-to-follow program encourages you to
make simple choices that will change
your life. |
 |
It focuses on substituting
positive choices and behaviors, rather than the denial and deprivation
of dieting. |
 |
There are no negative outcomes,
only continued opportunities for success. |
| What does it cost to take the
LoneStart Challenge? |
| If you are not part of a workplace
or organization taking the LoneStart Employee Challenge, we ask
you to pay only $2 a day for 21 days. That’s only $42.
That’s
all you will ever pay to take this challenge for 21 days, 21
weeks or 21 years. (Except, of course for that pesky shipping
and handling and [in some cases] sales tax we have to charge.)
We believe you’ll come to consider this the best investment
you’ll ever make because it is an investment in self.
LoneStart
is a grassroots effort to make our country healthier and happier.
We appreciate the fact that you are supporting this effort.
Thank you.

According
to the National Institutes of Health, 65 percent of American
adults age 20 and older (127 million) are classified as overweight
(BMI > 25) and approximately 30.5 percent (60 million) are
obese (BMI > 30). Nine million are severely obese. It is
projected that by 2008 nearly 40 percent of our population
will be obese. An estimated 300,000 deaths a year are attributed
to obesity. Experts place the blame on our all you can eat
economy.
Overweight
and obesity are major contributors to the escalating rates
of heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, musculoskeletal
conditions, stroke, certain types of arthritis, gall bladder
disease, some cancers, poor female reproductive health, depression
and other life-threatening illness. The Center for Disease
Control estimates that the medical cost of obesity in the
U.S. is $75 billion annually. And now, the overweight / obesity
epidemic is reaching the youngest segment of our population.
The percentage of overweight children ages 2 to 5 has increased
from 7 percent to 10 percent in the last decade.
